I studied painting and life drawing with the portrait artist Valerie Wiffen at West Dene College and Hampstead School of Art.
My work is informed by my love of music (I trained as a classical singer and play the violin) and of spacial structures (I also trained as an engineer). The connection with the subject of a portrait is very special experience and it is wonderful to take the time to create a memory of a person at a moment in time.
I'm based in Hertfordshire, where I live with my husband and our young son, who looks at me with a lovely mixture of suspicion and pride whenever I start sketching him.
